It is revealed that nearly 50 million Americans suffer with
allergies of different kinds. They experience adverse
reactions to normally harmless substances like dust, pollen,
food or mold. The immune system of the people having
allergies usually overreacts to these substances – known as
triggers. The people who are sensitive to triggers have the
high amount of substance called IgE in their blood. The body
reacts when the tiny bits like pollen granules trigger meet
up with IgE. The immune system fights of the foreign invader
which results in alergic symptoms like swelling, tearing,
congestion, sneezing and several other symptoms.
Different allergic conditions:
Allergic Rhinitis: Also known as hay fever, it is the
irritation of the nose where the inside of the nose gets
inflamed after being exposed to an alergic trigger.
Asthma: This is the ongoing disease caused by the
inflammation of the airways obstructing to breath.
Atopic Dermatitis or Eczema: This is the red, inflamed rash
mostly appearing on the arms, legs, ankles or necks. Itching
gets worst during early evening and nights.
Some related conditions: There are some diseases that have
the allergic components. Persons having one of such
conditions are more likely to be affected with the other
too.
Conjunctivitis: This is the reaction in the white portions
of the eyes accompanied by redness, tearing, stinging or pus
discharging from the eyes. Many people with alergic rhinitis
develop allergic conjunctivitis easily.
Otitis media: This is the inflammation of the middle ear
which is the most common childhood disease. It could be
continual or just occur once in a while.
Sinusitis: Coughing with dark yellow or green nasal
discharge are the main symptoms of sinusitis in children.
Treatments of alergic diseases: Oral medications like
antihistamines are the most effective treatments for
allergic reactions.
