Skin alergic reactions may cause development of red, bumpy,
scaly, itchy, swollen skin conditions, any of these or all
of them widely signify the skin allergic reactions. Such
condition is usually caused due to the immune system
reaction which signifies the allergy. Allergic skin
reactions may take various forms and may be occurred because
of different reasons or causes.
The most common types of the alergic skin reaction are such
as: Atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis or eczema, hives
or urticaria and swelling or inflammation called angioedema.
Causes: There may be several causes that usually develop the
allergic skin reactions such as: foods, airborne, chemicals,
medications, sunlight or any environmental conditions. It is
very difficult to detect and establish the exact cause or
the allergen that is probably causing the alergic skin
reactions.
Certain chemicals and metals like Nickel in the jewelry or
buttons on clothing, gold in jewelry, certain specific
perfume sprays, preservatives like formaldehydes, cobalt
chlorides used in antiperspirants or hair dye and many such
substances that are widely used in preparing various
cosmetics or shampoos etc. may too can easily cause allergic
skin reactions to many people.
Symptoms: There may be many symptoms of such skin conditions
such as: rashes, blisters, bumps, itchy nose or eyes, runny
nose, headaches, sneezing, sore throat – nose, hay fever,
irritating coughing, wheezing, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea
and many more. The symptoms may differ from person to person
depending on his individual medical conditions.
Treatment: Some specific medications like antihistamines and
antibiotics may help relieving symptoms, however, the best
way out is detecting and averting the probable allergen.
